My old friend Jed Kolko has put together a very interesting real estate blog over at Trulia. For those of you who like data and "Moneyball", I see a real estate website that is well worth looking at as it explores many zany data trends such as how the price of a home for sale varies as a function of whether the agent is a man or a woman. Freakonomics meets real estate is a promising niche!

Real estate pricing is a fickle area of discussion for brokers and agents alike. Unlike commercial real estate there is a tremendous degree of obfuscation to pricing residential homes. Perhaps what is most interesting is that the difference between "just another real estate agent" and a leader in the market is the ability to direct the buyer/seller away from their emotions and embrace the reality of the situation.
Easier said then done.
