David Fernandez

David Fernandez

Hometown: Long Beach, CA

Activities/Hobbies: Watching sports and mentoring

David graduated with a B.S. in Mathematics from M.I.T in 2005 and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Irvine in 2008. He currently works as a systems engineer for Raytheon. David's professional interests are in innovation and entrepreneurship in technology specifically in semi-conductors and in wireless communications. He plans to leverage his MBA and engineering experiences toward his long-term goal of becoming an executive in business development and strategy with a forward-thinking and high-growth technology company.

David will be applying to business school in the Fall of 2010 and credits the Riordan Fellows program on solidifying his decision to pursue the MBA and on preparing him for the application process. He plans to continue his commitment to the Riordan Programs through the Riordan Program Alumni Association (RPAA).

Lilibeth Gangas

Lilibeth Gangas

Activities/Hobbies: Traveling, triathlons/half marathons, and learning about new cultures

Lilibeth has been working as a Multi-Disciplined Engineer developing software at Raytheon's Space and Airborne Systems for nearly six years since graduating from USC with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. She is currently supporting an offsite project in Cambridge, MA doing software integration at a customer's site. Lilibeth also completed a Systems Engineering Certification Program at UCLA's Extension and was ranked in the top 5% of her engineering grade at Raytheon.

Lilibeth immigrated to California from Bolivia at a young age and grew up in San Fernando Valley. She champions Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) initiatives in her community through organizations such as USC's Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement (MESA), Raytheon's MathMovesU, and Competitive Crisis Council (CCC).

Vi Nguyen graduated from the UCSD in 2007 with a major in Biochemistry and Cell Biology and minor in Economics. She currently works in San Francisco as a Research Manager at Gerson Lehrman Group, where she covers the healthcare/biomedical sector. Her past work experience includes both Genentech and Pfizer. She is eager to give back to the Riordan programs and th Riordan community that has been instrumental in helping her develop professionally and realize her career goals and welcomes you to join her on her journey to business school.
