[ADVISOR PROFILE] Mef Shebi


Mef HeadshotName: Mef Shebi

Hometown: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Washington D.C.

College/Major: UVA/Systems Engineering & Mathematics; Harvard/Education Policy

Previous Roles: Career Advisor at Chicago Booth and Darden Business School. Worked as Management Consultant serving clients in a broad range of sectors including healthcare, energy, technology, education, and entrepreneurship.

 

 

What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I wanted to be a visual artist. As a teenager, I used to compete regionally doing sketch and abstract drawings and loved it. Eventually I started to be drawn more towards science and tech and developed an interest to become an Astronaut. I’m still growing up and I’m happy to be an educator and a career coach now.

Why Parker? I love being part of a highly diverse, close-knit and innovative community. It is inspiring and energizing to contribute to a passionate team that is committed to student engagement and success; helping prepare the next generation of leaders realize their career potential.

In what do I specialize at Parker? I focus on the Technology vertical in Parker. I coach, mentor and train students interested in pursuing careers in various functions across the Technology industry.

What can you come to me for? I’m passionate about helping students define a clear story, outline a robust career strategy, network effectively, and make informed decision on their career journey. You can see me for any of your career search related needs including developing your value proposition, recruiting strategy, networking prep and mock interviewing as well as navigating difficult career search/recruiting challenges.
