How Sustainable Is Your Global Supply Chain? Get Ready To Report On It

Recently I had the opportunity to take a peek into the future of sustainability reporting. The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) is the organization behind the leading set of guidelines for sustainability reports (sometimes called citizenship reports, CSR reports for corporate social responsibility, or ESG environmental, social, and governance reports). GRI is in the midst of an extensive global effort (conducting "due process") to work with a wide range of stakeholders to update the current G3 guidelines, introduced in October 2006, and aims to introduce the new G4 guidelines in May 2013.

Últimamente, tuve la oportunidad de echarle un vistazo al futuro de los informes de sustentabilidad. La Iniciativa de Informes Globales (GRI, por sus siglas in inglés) es la organización que está detrás del conjunto líder de las normas de los informes de sustentabilidad (algunas veces denominados informes de ciudadanía, informes de CSR para la responsabilidad social corporativa o informes ESG para el manejo corporativo medioambiental y social). La GRI se encuentra en el medio de un esfuerzo global importante (dirigiendo el "debido proceso») para trabajar con un rango de participantes para actualizar las pautas G3 actuales, presentadas en octubre de 2006 y tiene como objetivo presentar las nuevas pautas G4 en mayo de 2013.
