YouTube CEO and Anderson alumna Susan Wojcicki (’98) landed the No. 12 spot this year on Forbes’ “The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women” list, moving up from No. 30 in 2013. Coming in just behind South Korean President Geun-hye Park and just ahead of Pepsico CEO Indra Nooyi, Wojcicki is certainly among a rarefied group.
Wojcicki is considered one of the world’s most prominent technology executives and an early champion of online video. She was named YouTube CEO in February, previously serving as Google’s senior vice president of advertising and commerce, where she oversaw AdWords, AdSense, DoubleClick and Google Analytics—and more than 90 percent of Google’s revenue.
Since obtaining her MBA from UCLA Anderson, Wojcicki has been named one of Fortune's “50 Most Powerful Women in Business” and one of Vanity Fair's “50 leading innovators [who] shake the foundations of their industries.” Wojcicki was the 16th person to join Google, shortly after Sergey Brin and Larry Page founded the company in her garage.
Wojcicki will deliver the UCLA Anderson commencement address at 4 p.m. on June 13, 2014, on Wilson Plaza on the UCLA campus.
