Liveguide cofounders Josh Schachter and Hrag Hamalian have always been entrepreneurial—the impulse wasn’t born at UCLA Anderson. “However, Anderson has really provided us with the polished tools, and subsequently a great amount of confidence, to grow those entrepreneurial aspirations,” Schachter says. “We feel very prepared as a result of Anderson.” Plus, he says the two founders would never have met if not for the school.
According to the company, Liveguide is an “experiential marketing platform that will change the way audiences experience destinations online, and will transform the ways that businesses attract prospective customers.” They will focus first on university tours, expanding out to museums, hospitality venues and more after launch.
Knapp has been a key resource on the team’s entrepreneurial journey. Schachter says it has helped hone their naturally competitive instinct, as well as their business acumen and motivation. “Knapp has been a way for us to keep pace at continually evolving our business. We've used it as a milestone marker, and the quality of our work in preparing our business plan has benefited greatly as a result,” Schachter says.
Ultimately, the two realize winning would be fantastic, further validating their premise and motivating them as they continue building their business. But, in this case, they know it’s not the end all to be all. “We view being able to participate in the finals as a huge victory,” Schachter says. “We know the other four teams will bring rock-star presentations, and we're looking forward to seeing everyone's hard work.”
