As co-founder and namesake of UCLA Anderson's Riordan Programs, former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan has a long involvement with Anderson, an involvement that includes teaching courses to MBA students. The mayor made a few headlines not too long ago, when he proposed that the city of Los Angeles faced the possibility of bankruptcy.
Romain Wacziarg is an Anderson professor of economics currently serving as chair of UCLA Anderson's Global Economics and Management area. The result is the video that follows, a fascinating discussion that mixes theory and practice, politics and economics.
